Born 1955 in Dalian, Liaoning Province, Jiang Dongyang is a writer of cifu (rhapsody / prose-poetry), poet and cultural scholar. He is the editorial director of the China Writers Association monthly journal Zhong Hua Ci Fu (Chinese Cifu) (中華辭賦). He has a distinctive writing style that is broad-minded, bold and unbridled, embodying elegance and simple grace; while rooted in the classical tradition, it displays elements of originality, and follows the footsteps of masters without being constrained by them. He is adept at composing both poetry and prose.  He is best known for his cifu works, which have garnered national and international attention.
